The part matched the tools during forming, so why does it move when they open? Because the loaded shape and the released shape are not necessarily the same.
This is the reason for a springback calculation. I am keeping this post to the first setup and result check. Die compensation comes later, after we have a springback result worth using.
Start from the right forming state
Save the working study and open the springback settings for the intended operation. Include the required springback stage and inspect what state it receives.
If trimming is part of the sequence, check when it happens. Removing material can affect the shape that is then released.
How is the part supported?
Define the support or locating conditions according to the exercise and the intended inspection. A freely released part and a part held in a fixture represent different situations.
The model needs appropriate control of rigid-body motion without adding restraints that suppress the deformation you wanted to measure. This is not a place to invent constraints just to make an error disappear.
Review the selected numerical method, compatible solver host and convergence settings. Use the documented exercise settings as a starting point for that exercise, not as universal tolerances.
Compare the forming and released states
After running, read the solver messages and how the calculation ended. Then display the end-of-forming and released shapes in the intended common reference.
Look at the whole part and selected sections. Does the comparison show actual shape change, or is an overall shift making the difference look larger?
For a contour comparison, use Distance Between Objects with a clearly stated definition. Closest-surface distance is not automatically displacement along Z.
Keep the forming history, trimming order, support conditions and result state with your report. Those details explain what “springback” means in this particular model much better than a single colourful picture.
