This post is for the Linux machine that will run the solver. The 2025 guide lists Linux solver and optimizer support, but no Linux PAM-STAMP graphical interface. You can therefore have the modeling interface on Windows and use Linux for computation.
The graphical installer mentioned below is an installation tool. It is not the modeling application.
Check the package and destination
Read the release requirements and confirm the distribution, processor support and available storage. Obtain the Linux archive for the intended version and extract it into a temporary location.
Choose an installation directory where the installer has the required access. Keep that path handy; the solver host will need the installed launcher’s location later.
Start the installation
The guide documents paminst-gui.sh and paminst.sh routes. For its graphical installation workflow, run ./INSTALL.SH from the extracted installer directory.
The graphical wizard requires an X-compatible display and temporary space. A headless machine may be better handled through the documented command-line installer route, following its prompts and help for the supplied package.
In the wizard, choose Install software, continue, and set Install in directory to your chosen destination.
Choose the Linux solver package
Select the required components. The guide names Solvers_Linux-Intel64 for the 2025 DMP solvers and optimizer, and flexnet_v11.19.4.1 for license-server utilities.
The FlexNet package is relevant when starting the corresponding license server. Connecting to an existing server and hosting one are different arrangements, as we will discuss in Linux licensing.
Continue through file installation. At completion, the wizard offers License management and Define environment, or you can do those tasks later.
Files installed does not mean the run is ready
Complete the license and user-environment setup before configuring a job. Use the correct launcher path from the Linux host’s point of view and ensure it can access the working directory.
Then try a small known example through the host configuration. If the launch fails, separate a missing command or path from a license or solver message. That saves changing a model that the solver has not even started reading yet.
